Applying with NDRS, will I be able to travel?

Quick and straight forward question. I need to apply for British neutralisation before the end of the month. I have a flight booked in December. For people who have applied with NDRS, were you able to travel with your passports, or are you not supposed to travel until you receive an outcome on your application?

Many Thanks

After searching in old topics....

For British neutralisation, I'm guessing there no need to rush in an application vis NDRS before the end of the month then, since you also get your passport back & can travel while application is being processed with the new service? Any reason I should rush in and use the old service while it is still available?

CR001? you seem very resourceful

Many thanks in advance

If you use NDRS, you can apply for citizenship and the passport at the same time.

No longer possible with the new service.

Yeah, it's a shame. Hopefully they might introduce it later when everything is settled with the new service.

Can still book an appointment with the new service instead of the council and keep your passport and BRP card?

I believe so yes.

Thank you so much CR001. Managed to book an NDRS for next Tuesday 27th!

A couple of questions if I may please:

1. Application for the passport. This is the first time I've heard of this so I've decided to go with it, I figure it'll be less hassle. I think it's been mentioned around as 'JCAP'? But I just need to get a form from the post office, fill that in, and take it with me right? Anything else I should be wary of?

2. My ILR is a stamp on an old passport and I don't have a biometric card. Presumably they are going to make me get one after my application. My question is, would I be able to travel without this biometric card if I don't receive it in time? I have a flight booked on 21st Dec, back again 9th Jan. Am I putting myself in any risks at all by flying out so soon, with regards to making and receiving a biometric card? If so I will just delay the entire application until I am back I think.

Nothing to be wary of other than don't forget to complete the passport payment sheet, this is in the booklet you get with the form.

Why do you think you need a biometric card? You do not. You are free to travel on your existing passport and expired ILR one. You are perhaps confusing the biometric card with the enrolling your biometrics which is required. They are two different things.

Yes, I think you're right, I'm confusing the biometric card with the enrolling my biometrics. I think between 27th Nov(NDRS appointment) and 21st Dec(my flight) there should be enough time for enrolling my biometrics then. There's noting else to worry about before flying out, right? Thanks for all your help today. I have been trying to scan through hundreds of post before asking you questions! Hopefully this thread will be useful for somebody one day!

As you are using the online citizenship form, my understanding is that you get to download the biometric enrollment letter at the end of the process so can then just attend at the Post office to do the biometrics.

Ok, got it! Many thanks. Then everything should be sorted by next Tuesday! I just haven't go to the end of the form yet as I've read you should secure an appointment first before submitting £1.3k!
