Afternoon all, i was refused naturalisation based on good character, the Home Office stated I submitted an employment letter during my ILR application.
I applyied for my SAR I found out that the Home Office incorrectly linked my file with another family member.
The data was linked incorrectly when i applied for my ILR and they were aware of mistake at that point.

Fast forward to 2117 when i applied for Naturalisation that person home office data was made available to the caseworker that dealt with my naturalisation. I have applied for reconsideration with SAR from HM revenue and customs as proof that I was not in employment anytime during the 10yr check as stated by the Home Office.

I have submitted the reconsideration form 3wks ago but the fee has not been deducted from account, i was wondering if anyone has gone through a similar experience as me and how long do they take to deducte their fees.
Just to add on I have made a formal complaint to them about the data issue.

Afternoon all, i was refused naturalisation based on the good character requirement, the Home Office stated I submitted an employment letter during my ILR application.
I applied for my SAR shortly after and found out from notes on my data that the Home Office incorrectly linked my file with another family member.
The data was linked incorrectly when i applied for my ILR and they were aware of the mistake at that point (during IRL). I applied for further Information from the SAR team stating that I would like a copy of the employment letter that I was refused under, the Home Office SAR team wrote back that they could not find an employment letter in my name on my Home Office file.

So basically my naturalisation application was refused using someone person's home office information which was made available to the caseworker that dealt with my case.

I have now applied for reconsideration pointing out these errors with SAR from HM revenue and customs as proof that I was not in employment anytime during time that the caseworker said i was.

I have submitted my reconsideration form about 3wks ago but the fees has not been deducted from my account, i know the reconsideration route can take some time so was wondering if anyone has gone through a similar experience as mine and to ask how long was it before the application fee was deducted from your account
Just to add on I have made a formal complaint to them about the data issue.

Reconsiderations are known to take a long time, from three months to a year.
