Hi couple of questions please

What is the tax office reference number - is it the PAYE reference on the p60?

Also in the employment questions, shall I also mention about the work I did when I was a student years ago? or just the Tier 2 employment

Yes re tax ref number.

You must state ALL employment as the form asks for the last 10 years.

thanks for the response

With regards to the employment - this seems like a tough task - i worked at various places for short durations during whilst I was an undergrad for 4 years. What if I don't remember the precises details?

Maybe ask HMRC for your employment history.

Or answer as accurately as you remember as HO do check.

ok thanks.

Also when it asks when was the first time you entered the UK - shall I give the date when I first came as a student or when the route under which I got ILR start date?

Does the question say 'first entered' or 'date entered you based ILR on'??

The question says first enter. However the reason I asked is because I entered as a student and not using that as basis of citizenship. I am using my "5year ILR plus 1 year" route for citizenship.

You missed my 'tongue in cheek sarcasm'. If the form says First Entered, that is what you put down. If the question does not say 'first entered that you are basing your application on', the no it is not your tier 2 entry date.

It is not asking you what you are basing your application on like the ILR forms do.

Hi are you sure about this? I would have thought the spouse is not a dependent?

For immigration purposes, your spouse is a dependent as they hold a visa dependent on you!!

According to guide AN (page 7), when filling in the application the date when the applicant enters the UK with the view of staying in the UK on a long-term basis should be provided. When you enter the UK as a student you do not intend to remain long-term therefore you should provide the date when you entered the UK after your studies. I am in a similar situation. I was in the UK in 2008-9 for studies, and then went back to my home country and reentered on a post study visa in 2011. When I was applying for a permanent residence as a family member of an EEA national I put the 2011 date as a date when I first entered the UK. I did include a cover letter explaining that I was in the UK on a student visa before but that I did not enter this date as this is not when I intended to stay in the UK long term. I did get the permanent residency. I am submitting an application for naturalisation atm and I am providing a similar cover letter explaining why I am giving the 2011 date as a date when I first entered the Uk and citing the guide AN p. 7.
Good luck with your application.

I just checked page 7 on the guide again and it does state the date when the applicant enters the UK with the view of staying in the UK on a long-term basis should be provided.
However, my case is slightly different to yours. I did not leave the UK at all after uni. Went from student to Tier 2 inside the UK.
I don't think it will harm, in my case alteast, to mention that I entered back in 2008.
good luck to you too.

HI I would like to confirm something.

I recently got a parking charge notice. I don't think I need to mention it anywhere in the online application but just wanted to confirm if I am right?

Hi

In the new online system, one just has to give their referee details as requested in the online form.

Do you also need to get physical letters from you referees which is signed by them?

No additonal letter. They sign the referee form you complete and print off.

thanks.

For non-EU applicants, I understand one has to upload pages of passport showing stamps. Does one also have to scan the empty pages in the rest of the passport?

Hi I have my appt (nonEU) next week. I have uploaded the following documents in these categories:

"Proof of Apllication" : Current and previous passports with stamps

"Residence in the UK" : ILR BRP

"Other": Life in the UK, UK degree and 2 referee forms.

Is the above okay?
