Applying for Naturalisation. Dual Citizenship (South Africa)

Hello. Please can someone advise me on a point very similar to this.

My son (applying for 'approved' UKF Citizenship) is awaiting his ceremony date for BC. After this will apply for passport.
He will be joining me in the UK but will be flying out on a one way ticket.
We have not applied for Dual Nationality, as we only realised after the BC application that we need to do this first. Not that bothered about losing SA citizenship, but:

How will this affect him when he leaves South Africa? One way ticket, no dual nationality, both passports?

Any ideas? Thank you.

He must leave SA on his SA passport if it has not been cancelled (it would be cut and stamped if it was but only if you bring it to HA attention). So issues. He simply presents the British passport to prove he has the right to enter the UK. Home Affairs does not get notified by the British authorities anyway so unless he tells HA, they won't know.

Note that had the UKF been done and dusted before he turned 18 this year, he would have been able to retain SA citizenship.

Thank you CR001

So to be clear, he leaves as normal but on his SA passport, if they ask any questions, present the British Passport. Will they cancel his SA passport there and then? Thank you so much for all your advice over the past 6 months.

1. Leave on valid SA passport. The airline check in desk will ask for the British passport to check he has the right to enter the UK. When he goes through immigration, simply present SA passport. They will only ask questions if he tries to go through immigration with his British passport.

CR001 - Just going back to this. I understand for him to leave on SA Passport, but, when we get the ticket, do I put in SA or UK passport details? Sorry to bring this back up.

Thank you.

Either is fine but I would put the British passport as this is proof of right to enter the UK.
