Hello,

I hope this isn’t a silly question, I was previously on FLR -FP private life route and changed to FLR-FP as a parent 5 year route. I have been married to my husband who is a British citizen for almost 3 years, he’s been researching and think I can naturalise as a British Citizen on the basis that I have spent more than 3 legal years under different pathways. Do I need to have ILR or can I apply for British Citizenship without ILR providing I can prove the years?

For naturalisation you need ILR, once you got it you can apply for AN straigh away.

You need ILR and after that you can apply for citizenship on spouse route which means u will not need to wait for one year with ILR. However, ILR have its on merit regardless of marriage with british citizen as u are not on spouse visa.
