UK Citizenship Eligibility for a baby born outside UK (India)

Hello All,

My situation is as follows.

Father : Citizenship approved on 22nd July, 2018, but Citizenship Ceremony postponed till 8th Jan, 2019 for various travel commitments.

Mother : on ILR

Baby : Born on 5th October, 2018, in India.

The confusion is due to the fact that baby is born before the date of citizenship ceremony.

What options I have here

1) Can i directly apply for the baby's passport, considering that citizenship was approved when the baby was born (but ceremony hasn't taken place)
2) Register the child for naturalization. Form MN1, Section 3(1). If this is valid, How the residence requirements (Section 2) will be met, as the baby hasn't stayed in UK at all.
3) any other options?

Appreciate your help on this. Thank you.

1. No you can't as the child is not British as not born to a Parent who is British. You are only British once you attend your ceremony and delaying it by 6 months is the issue (did you keep changing your ceremony date?? Do you realise you are suppose to attend your ceremony with 3 months of approval?)

2. No.

3. Apply for a child settlement visa. Child should be granted ILR.
