Hi,

Quick question, please.

Can a *provisional* driving license be used as proof of address for the Life in the UK test?

Many thanks!

Thanks for your reply.

I think that is in reference to "ID", on the next page it states the following regarding proof of address:

-------------------------
What to bring to your test
You must bring the same ID that you used to book the test.

You must also bring proof of your address that has your name and postcode on it. It must be dated within 3 months of the day of your test. This can be a:

gas, electricity or water bill - the original document, not a photocopy
Council Tax bill - the original document, not a photocopy
letter from the Home Office with your name and address on it
UK photocard driving licence
bank or credit card statement

----------------------------------

What do you think?

Thanks!

Honestly, I would take my passport/id card and x number of documents for proof of address. If it has to be the DL then it will show your address mule well.

I used my Provisional Driving Licence for the Life in the UK test. All fine.

Not sure if you can use a passport for ID check and driving licence for address proof, I used the driving licence for both.
But if you do the same thing as me, using driving licence as proof of ID, don't forget you are "expected to" supply the same proof of ID when you apply for naturalisation to the one you used for the Life in the UK Test.
Therefore, you might have to send both your passport and the provisional driving licence when you apply for citizenship. Just an FYI.
