Hi.
Might be a silly question.
We applied for naturalisation in oct last year.
We have friends that applied after us and got the decision a month ago.
I contacted them to ask for an update and received this email.
"" All applications are dealt with in application receipt date order. As you application was received on 12th October 187, It will take a while longer for your application to be considered. Once your application is decided, you will be contacted by your caseworker."
What does it actually mean?
Are they working on it? Not yet? Why will a case worker contact us?
Thanks

That response means anything from no one touched it to your decision letter is with Royal Mail, based on the responses from another email thread.
As you know, everyone is different, applying through different routes, supplying different documents, might be easier or quicker for Home Office to check some people for Good Character than others, might be wait time while another governmental department replies to Home Office regarding the applicant. The aim is providing the decision within 6 months.
