NEW ONLINE Application process + PASSPORT

Hi,
I am unable to post reply on other threads. I have submitted online application, biometrics earlier in Jan this year. Does anyone who has submitted it via the new method know how to track the processing time?
I just got an automated email after submission that it can take upto 6 months.
Also, I guess I need to wait to hear the results of citizenship application before I can apply for the passport?

There is no online portal by HO for you to track the processing time. You simply need to wait to hear back.

Also, I guess I need to wait to hear the results of citizenship application before I can apply for the passport?
Yes. You are only British once you have attended your ceremony and received your certificate of naturalisation. Only then can you apply for a British passport.

thank you. quick question on whether it is OK to travel outside UK while the application is being processed (given we have the passport and BPR with us)?

I read the same thing about 6 months, however on my 'checklist' it says: You should receive a decision on your application within 8 weeks of your biometrics appointment. We will contact you if it will take longer to process your application.

The official UKVI service statement is "six months" though actual is currently anywhere between one and three months average, though there are still applicants on the forum who are waiting in excess of six months, a few cases more than a year..
