I am new to the forum

My husband is British by Descent through (Naturalisation) 3 years ago and My son was Born in Nigeria last year so he's qualified to apply for British Passport. My appeal was recently allowed and I am waiting for email from the Home office and link to pay IHS fee but the problem I have is, if I applied for British passport for my son from overseas, what is the waiting time for this?

I also realized we can apply for right of abode for my son, what is the waiting for this?

We are married and do we need to provide DNA that my son belong to us?

I will be very grateful if someone can clarify this for me.

A person who was naturalised is British otherwise than by descent.

There shouldn't be a need for a DNA test if the parents are married.

Thank you very much for your reply vinny.

My spouse visa should be ready and I have checked online for applying for British passport for my son and it will take roughly 3 months but will right of abode he processed in Nigeria

Do you know the list of documents that you recommend we should submit?

Do I need to submit my husband original passport or photocopy of his British passport is enough and naturlisation certificate and what else?

Thank you once again I’m extremely grateful for your reply.
