Hi,

Me and my wife have ILR now, I have it for last two years and my wife got it recently. Our daughter is 12 years old, was born in India, she is been with us here for last 8 and half years. My question is can I apply for my daughter's citizenship (registration) along with me ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks

She needs ILR as she was born abroad.

As she is over 10, she is also subject to the good character requirement.

She can also only apply for citizenship when she has ILR and either parent is also applying for citizenship or is already British and the other parent holds ILR.

Why didn't you include her with your wife's ILR application?

What visa does your daughter hold and what route to ILR has your wife taken?

Presumably your daughter still has a valid visa and it hasn't expired.

Thanks for your replies.

My wife took the 10 year route, otherwise she had to wait for another 2 years for 5 year route.

My daughter still has a valid visa ( on depandant leave to remain visa same as my wife's earlier visa) until end of April.

Someone mentioned that if both parents have ILR then my daughter can apply for registration ( on discretion ) which will save some money by not applying for another extension then ILR then citizenship

Thanks
