Hello

Current Situation: Pakistani mother with ILR. British father (me) who became British citizen by naturalisation after 5 yrs on tier1 general. Already have one child who is British citizen (born in U.K.) and another one expected in July but in Pakistan. Doctors have advised my wife (expecting mother) not to undertake long haul flight due to current pregnancy complication.

Help needed with:
1- What's the process to get British passport for my second child that is (to be) born in Pakistan?
2- Is applying for British passport from Pakistan the fastest way to get the child back with me in U.K. Or 'right to abode' faster?
3- If the child gets right to abode, comes to UK, can I apply for his/her British passport immediately? Or do I need to go through some additional steps to get passport for him/her?
4- If th child comes to uK by using right to abode route will he/she loose the right to transfer citizenship to his/her future generation? (Will be good to know but who knows about future)

Many thanks for your help in advance. Sorry if these questions are repeat for you but I couldn't find an exact match for my situation on other threads.

Regards

I think I got confused, should have typed in 'Certificate of Entitlement' and instead wrote 'Right to Abode'. please read the above post with Certificate of Entitlement in mind.

Children born in the UK, with British parents, will automatically be "British otherwise than by descent". Someone who acquires British citizenship in this way can pass British citizenship on to his or her children regardless of where their children are born.

Children born outside the UK, with British parents, are usually considered "British by descent". If someone is British by descent, they cannot pass British citizenship onto their children who are born outside the UK. Instead their children will not be automatically British but may be able to register as British nationals if they meet certain requirements.
