Processing and asking for ID's return

Hello
I need some advice.
My application for citizenship has been at the home office since Dec 2018 and I need my Id's back asap.
I knew processing will take longer but I cannot wait till June.
I was supposed to visit a lawyer for another issue this week and they asked for ID so I had to cancel. So I am being handicapped.
I had sent my brp, passport and drivers licence. All the id that I have.
Can I ask for my ID's back while they are still processing?
