hello

I am currently living and working continously in UK for the last 5 years and 2 months as a EU citizen. I want to become a British citizen and have permanent residence here. I am not sure what is the first step to do. Do i have to book an appointment for the Life in UK test or applying for resident card?
I have read information on this forum and on GOV site about becoming a british citizen but i am really confused about the first step.

Could you please explain me what do i have to start with in order to become british citizen? Is it true i need first to have my residence and Life in UK test passed before applying for UK pass? Are these 2 application proceses different or are the same?

many thanks
R

1. You need to have PR for 13 months before you can apply. It is mandatory to have a document Certifying PR and unclear if you have this already.

2. You need English B1 test and life in the UK test before you can apply.

3. Once the above is done, you apply online on form AN.

Note a passport is a seperate application you can only make once you have attended your citizenship ceremony and are British.
