Good character

Hi everybody!

I am new to this forum but I still hope you can help me with my query.

I have conviction from 2 years ago. I know I have to declare it when applying for citizenship. My problem is when I applied for PR I did not declare it. I remember I ticked NO for everything on the application form for my PR. Will they still look on my PR application? How long do they keep your records? Some say 6 years. Do I need to wait 6 years before I apply for citizenship so they won’t have record of my PR application? Or should I apply now and just say I ticked the wrong box before.

Please help.

Over speeding and parking tickets for overstaying in a Tesco car park. I paid parking tickets after receiving 2 letters from them.

Is it true they keep your records for 6 years?

Can I make excuse that I ticked wrong box before?

it has nothing to do with your PR application. no need to explain it as such about previous application.

this is a new application under new UK laws and has nothing to do with previous application declaration.

P.S. there is no such thing of record being removed after so and so years, the records are always there and it depends weather the relevant authority is going to consider it or not.

you are good to go without being worry about your question.

Hello again! I have submitted my application last week. Payment has been taken already. How long will I have to wait for the letter to come asking me to provide biometrics or will it be done on the day of my apoointment with sopra?

Thank you for your reply!

Now I am scanning and uploading documents. What do I put under proof of application? Can I put all my evidence there like passports, p60’s, etc?

Do EEA nationals have to scan all pages of passport or is it just for non EEA?

And I have 6 months employment gap outside my 5 year qualifying period as I was out of the UK. Do I need to send a letter explaining this? I have submitted my application already and only declared employment periods within last 10 years. I did not explain about the gap.

Please help...

Gaps in employment as such are not an issue - working is not a requirement for naturalisation. Though UKVI may ask for other evidence of residence for the six months. As for scanning passport - this should be the whole passport. If there were different rule it would be stated.

What evidence of residence can I provide if I was out of the UK during that 6 months period?

Most official documents such as Council Tax, HMRC, DWP, Child Benefit, Pensions, etc - bills, letters, notices, etc
