There is no 'submission at council' option anymore. Do you mean the new UKCVAS option??

also another question is, trying to upload documents to UKVCAS website and there is a section "Mandatory" which requires passport, there "Optional" - under this, I see option for Health, Finances, Employment etc - what do i need to upload for Health and Finances as I thought there is no need of bank statements etc?do i upload things like life in the uk test under "other" section?

Confirmed there is no requirement for financial or health (?) documents for Naturalisation.

These are the sections I see and most of it are not applicable to me so do I leave it blank?

For example, which section do I upload my references? - please see attached

Yes sections that are not relevant to you have to be left blank.

I put the referees in "Other"

hello all
I have applied for my citizenship and submitted all my documents

I used the service in the library and paid £120 for 2 applications which included the document checking service. To be honest they didn’t know anything and don’t think they checked anything. Anything I asked she said “I can include if you want”!

I did get an email 2 days before my appointment saying my documents were fine - does this mean it’s all ok? How long does it normally take for the citizenship approval?

Thanks

Why not have a look at the monthly TIMELINE ONLY topics to get an idea

It can take anywhere from a few weeks up to 6 months, sometime even longer.
