Hi Experts,

I am thinking to register my son (born in UK) as BC. HIs immigration status is as follows:-

Born - Nov2016
Then got Pakistani Passport and Tier 2 Gen. Dependant visa
Traveled to Pakistan and came back
Got Tier 2 Gen. Extension in Mar2017,
Current Tier 2 Gen. leave is still valid till Mar2020

I have recently received the ILR based on Tier 2 Gen. 5 years rule.

I just came to know that I don't need to extend his visa on dependant basis, but he can be registered as BC (not even need to be naturalised)

Can you please guide me on the process of registering him as BC given the above immigration status.

Also, please advise on the difference in between Naturalisation and BC? I am confused here.

please share the cost details of the registration as well?

Thank you all.

Regards,
JR

If your son was born after you got your ILR then you can register him as british citizen otherwise you will have to apply for naturalisaton of the child firm. Once you receive the the citizenship certificate you can apply for his passport

A child born in the UK after a parent has ILR is automatically Briths and can apply for a passport directly. This doesn't apply to the OP.

The op has clearly stated the child was born in 3016 and the op got ILR recently.

Children are NOT naturalised. They are REGISTERED!!

Kindly do not give incorrect advice which creates confusion.
