Child Passport Supporting Docs

Hey,
I am a British Citizen (born and raised in Northern Ireland). I now live in Canada and have 3 Canadian sons.
I am having trouble understanding the supporting documents needed to apply for my 3 boys to get their first British Passports. I am finding it unclear as to whether I am the applicant or are my sons the applicant?

Can someone provide me with a simple list of what documents are needed for me to include with the boys applications? I have seen the list that the government provides but are they are a bit confusing.

Thanks

Do I need to send in the Birth certificates of my parents (my sons grandparents)?
Do I need to send along my British passport?
Do I need to send along my sons Canadian Passports or full colour photocopies?

Hi, not really sure in your circumstances, but when I have applied online for the first passports within the UK though, at the end they tell what documents to send, and for my daughter they asked for original registration certificate and passport, and same for us, we have sent the originals, it says in the email we've got they don't accept copies.

So you had to send in your passport too?

Hi, yes I had to. But for my application. Circumstances are different, all I wanted to say is that whatever documents they ask for must be originals.
