You can prove it by having either:
- an English qualification at B1, B2, C1 or C2 level
- a degree taught or researched in English

1 more question , when you got your ILR? and did you passed the english lanuage test at the time of ILR?
I'm asking this question because
Applying for citizenship
You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if you’re applying for citizenship and it was accepted when you settled in the UK.
It does not matter if the B1 level test you took is not on the current list of recognised tests. You do not need to take another test.

1. Please keep ALL your questions in ONE topic.
2. Please do NOT post Citizenship questions in the ILR sub forum!!
3. It is form AN, which is an online form.

Dear respected friends,
I need your kind help. I am bit confused about what difference between Naturalisation & Nationality Registration as a British Citizen - Adult, the both fees are different (naturalisation is £1330 + £80 ceremony fee AND Nationality Registration as a British Citizen is 1206 + £80 ceremony).
Please let me know which one is for us.
Thanks & Regards

Dear CR001,
One more question, I am stuck one point.... the question about previous application? Have you made any previous UK Immigration applications in the UK or abroad? (This include applications for asylum in the UK)
Yes or No
NB: I got DLR 6 years route then ILR and now due for Citizenship.
Which option for me Yes or No.
Thanks & Regards

It is yes as obviously you have applied twice for DLR and then for ILR.

If you have a refugee (you mentioned that you got your ILR through Asylum) status then you don't need to prove your Knowledge of English.

If you have a refugee (you mentioned that you got your ILR through Asylum) status then you don't need to prove your Knowledge of English. Kindly do not give incorrect information as it will result in a refusal and an applicant losing their fee.
https://www.gov.uk/english-language/exemptions
It is ONLY relevant to ILR and NOT to citizenship applications, where it is mandatory for ALL applicants to meet the English and LIUK requirement.
The link VERY clearly states :
If you’re applying for citizenship
There are no other exemptions if you’re applying to become a British citizen. You must have a relevant English language qualification even if you were exempt when you were granted settlement.

Ah I see, thanks a lot and sorry I didn't notice that.
