NS Form confirming British citizenship

Hi all,

I've managed to find myself in a rather peculiar situation where I was born here, my parents were born here with paper trails for all of us. However because my mother didn't change her name by deed poll and put a different surname on my birth certificate without any legal paperwork. This has caused a discrepancy between a link between us both. It has caused issues with applying for a passport and also had a bpss check fail for same reasons as above. Just seems really pathetic that because of a decision I had no input on has made my life difficult. I've been made aware of the NS form for which I have applied for, my job relies on that form being successful and as quick as possible. Does anyone have experience of this situation and anyone have an approximate timescale for the process to be completed. Just can not believe the situation I find myself in.

Thanks In Advance

When were you born? What was the UK immigration status of your parents at the time of your birth? What documentary proof do you have of the UK immigration status at the time of your birth?

1987 and we were all British at the time. Birth certificates, being as we were all born in England, me and my dad in reading, my mother in Hereford there has never been any home office involvement. An issue also stands because I have no contact with either parent now as well.
