Citizenship for Child Born Before Parents Obtained ILR

Good afternoon. I have a few queries about applying for citizenship/British passport for my child who was born in the UK last year. She currently has a Tier 2 dependent visa as both of us are on a Tier 2. We are eligible for our ILR applications in June. Am I right to think that after we are granted our ILR, we can go ahead and apply for naturalisation for her using the MN1 form, and subsequently a British passport? Does anyone know how long the entire process would take, as we plan to go out of the country in November? Thank you.

Yes.

It can take a few weeks and up to 6 months.

Also, just thinking ahead - her Tier 2 dependent is valid until August 2019, if we do not hear about her citizenship status by then, what should we do?

Nothing. Wait to hear back from HO. Child has an entitlement to register and visa expiring is not an issue.

Note though that if you travel out of the UK and the child has no visa and no British passport, they won't be able to return.
