I have just submitted my online Naturalisation application, only to discover that the 2 referees I put are not meant to be related. I have however put mother and daughter but with different surnames. The mother uses her maiden surname and the daughter her married name. Is there a way of amending this, or I should just leave it as it is? I have already made the payment so I cannot edit. Thanks.

Your referees must NOT be related to each other, this is very clear on the forms.
I suggest to write a covering letter explaining this with the details of a new referee and get them to sign a declaration and submit this at the appointment.
