Look at the timeline threads for a feel. There probably isn't a real difference but it seems like appointments with UKVCAS are in short supply at present.

Looks like post is faster. But again this is based on my understanding. You may want to browse through the threads to get a feel.

I am under the impression that there are no postal route anymore, only online route available at the moment. May be I am wrong.

You should avoid postal method as all the forms and service are now officially withdrawn. You should use UKVCAS.
All applications regardless of you method of applying, will join a processing queue.

I have applied online back in February, and the postal applications were processed much more quickly than the online applications.

What’s processing time 3 months ?

Look at the timeline threads yourself to get a true picture.

You will see that most people who did an online application in February waited to 2-3 months for the decision.
