Hi Gurus...

I am going to ask a important question. Is it possible if I want to change my name before apply British citizenship? My wife and 2 kids ( one daughter born in UK) are in my home country and I wana apply their visa next year after getting citizenship. Any negative impact could be or not on their application if I change my name?

You’re free to change your name as you wish. Make sure you get a name change deed for it. Also remember that if you will be applying for a British passport whilst keeping the passport of another country, both passports must be in the same name, so you may have to get a new passport of your current nationality in your new name first, before applying for a British passport.

Would you have to (also) change your ILR BRP before being able to naturalise as British citizen, or could you submit the ILR BRP in the original (old) name along with a recent deed poll as part of form AN naturlisation application?
