Expired English language test trinity college

Hello everyone, good to be back here after a while .. needed some information for my friend. He is from Pakistan and spouse of British national. He got ilr in 2017 and now he’s planning to apply for naturalisation. His old English language test that he used for ilr is expired now . Do he need to apply for new English test or the old one can be used? Thank you
