Hi,

I and my family have recently got ILR. I also have son who was born in the UK in March 2017 and for my son I did not apply for ILR as I was going to register my son as British Citizen once I get ILR.

So now I have got my ILR, could you please provide me the process of registering my child as british citizen?

Could you please send me the link to apply for my child registering as British citizen? DO I need to first get naturalisation certificate?

Please advise. Your early help on this would be highly appreciated.

Many Thanks
V

You will have to use the MN1 form (https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/product/mn1) to register your child as British citizen. You will have to fill the form, get two referees details and asked them to sign and fill referee forms. You will then have to make an appointment with UKVCAS for biometrics.

For MN1 Child applications, you will then receive certificate of registration rather than certificate of Naturalisation.

Thank you for your reply.

About referees, who should fill the form and sign? does it need to be people having British Citizenship?

Who the referees should be?

Please advise. Appreciate your reply on this.

Many Thanks

Thanks for your reply.

I could open the link now. In the starting page, it is mentioned that "Before you begin your application, ensure you have two referees who can endorse you."..

what these two referees should be? Sorry to ask you but I am not aware of this hence asking.

Your help on this would be highly appreciated.

Many Thanks
V
