Hi there,
My problem is related to a name change. I was born and raised in Argentina. Through my grandparents I got the Italian citizenship. So I moved to London using the Italian passport issued in Argentina. 10 years later, I became a Uk citizen by Naturalization. But before getting the Naturalization done, I’ve changed my first name through a deed poll. Ive tried to apply for the UK passport, but because the Italian passport has the old name (plus passport has expired) I got a letter from the passport office saying I have to change the name on the Italian passport or show them a official paper from embassy that says I’m not allow to change my name.
I do not know what to do next. I’ve never lived in Italy. I’m not registered with Aire.

The HMPO does NOT issue a passport to a dual national if the names on the passports and the application do not match. This means you must change your name in the Italian passport or get a certificate from the consulate. Why are you not contacting the Italian consulate in London or even using Google ??!

I’ve tried. It’s impossible to connect with the consulate by phone.
Then my passport has expired. To get a new one (they do not renew it) I have to register with something called Aire first. It’s for Italians living abroad. They want proof of address with a bill. All my bank account, payslip are under my new name. It’s very complicated. I’ve contacted several Italians lawyers. They don’t want to take my case, because they know how terrible is to deal with the consulate here and then send the papers to Italy for the name change.
So I’m wanna have to give up and change the Naturalization name back to the old name, first I’m gonna have to do another deed poll to revert the name back...
I’m losing sleep over these.

You should have applied for your passport then applied for the deed poll. HMPO also does not issue passport if your naturalisation certificate does not match the name on your passport. All names must match
The easiest option is to go to the consulate in person and convince them to issue you a letter that says such a process is very difficult and often is rejected. With that letter HMPO should issue your passport
