Naturalisation application case ID vs Home Office “our reference”

Dear All,

I have applied for naturalisation and have received an email acknowledgment with a case ID starting with “2” and it’s 8 digits.

The Home Office sent me a response letter with “our reference” having 9 digits consisting of the same exact case ID on the acknowledgement email but it started with a “02” as opposed to “2”.

Is this meant to be the same reference or not as one starts with a zero and other does not? Not sure if other applicants had the same thing.

Thanks all!

A letter could have a refrence. Every application has a case ID. HO may use the case ID if they send you a letter as the refrence for such letter. :?

Understood thanks, but my question is are they both the same reference providing the other one has an extra digit? Also is this the case for each application?

I presume they are the same. I am not sure how is that relevant to British citizenship ??!
