Less than 5 years ago I missed a connecting flight within UK and was off loaded. I had go through immigration before collecting my luggage.. so an entry was stamped.. I did leave the same day and arrived at the destination next morning..
Obviously I never left the UK earlier to warrant an entry stamp.. could this be confusing for a caseworker.
Should I just let it be or explain it? Going for biomets soon!
P.s Got ILR last year

No. Exit and Entry on the same day does not count as absence regardless of the reason . Ignore it

Even exit on a day and entry on next isn't counted as absence either. The day you breathe in UK is considered as inside UK. I found it while doing my online application actually.

My point was the caseworker may look for an entry/exit stamp of another country to co relate the entry stamp in UK.

I had a similar issue and I had a significant number of absences so I was concerned.

I did the following for ILR and used the same documents for naturalisation.
1) Requested a letter from the airline explaining the situation and clarifying the date I actually flew out of the country and included this with my application
2) Wrote an explanation in my cover letter describing the situation and indicating what pages relevant stamps were on

Did not seem to be an issue. My ILR was approved within a few hours and naturalisation in about a month.

Thanks. Sounds like a plan if I decide to follow up on it.. I think I’ve the e-tickets. I don’t want to draw attention to it..

I doubt the case worker goes on to check each and every stamp manually. Im pretty sure they have some other procedure to check that. Otherwise case workers will go crazy to match the exit and entry stamps jumbled up over each other bad ink etc.
