Separation during naturalisation application process

Does anyone know if separating from your partner after you’ve made your naturalisation application will have any kind of detrimental affect on the outcome (assuming you notify HO of the change of circumstances)?
For reference I’ve got ILR since 2007 so qualify for naturalisation either way but the application was made shortly before separating on the basis of being married to a UK citizen.
Any help appreciated.

No and there is no requirement to notify HO either as you are still legally married.

Thanks for the reply. At what point am I legally required? When we file for divorce? When we receive the decree Nisi?
The change of circumstance form indicates you should tell them when you stop living together which is confusing because I’ve seen it said you only have had to been married on the date of application so the info seems contradictory.

You are only officially divorced when the Decree Absolute is granted.

The form you are looking at is likely regarding visas and immigration applications.
You are fully entitled to apply for Citizenship as the spouse of British citizen if you are separated and still legally married (I did it and many others have too).
