Citizenship decision pending - Can I travel?

Is there a rule that prohibits an applicant (currently on ILR) from travelling abroad while a decision on citizenship is pending. Note that we will have our passports with us as we have decided to use our council's services for verifying the documents and then send copies with the application.

Council's don't do the verification anymore - you have to use online and make an appointment at UKVCAS. You now always keep your originals.

You can travel whilst your application is pending - naturalisation is not an immigration application.
Bear in mind that UKVI could ask for further information/documents and eventually there'll be the decision letter and invitation to book the ceremony - suggest you have someone trusted monitor your mail whilst you are away.

How is the applicant first alerted that their Citizenship application is concluded, via text message (like ILR) or is it via post?

1. Post.

2. Please ask your questions in your own topic.
