Best way to acquire UK citizenship via spouse?

I have been in the UK for 15 years. Due to on/off studies and work I didn't have 5 years of continuous work, therefore my wife acquired the citizenship this month, and I am hoping to get it via her. We're both EU.
I studied in the UK, and have got the life in the UK test.
What's the best way (requirements) to acquire it via my wife?

You still need PR or settled status before you can apply for citizenship.

I think PR is the easier one to get.
Then, do I have to wait for 1 year before I apply? Or can I do it straight away? HMRC's website is not that clear.

PR requires 5 continuous years of being a qualified person exercising treaty rights.
Settled status is based on 5 years residence only.
If your spouse is British then no need to wait for 1 year, provided you meet all the requirements to apply based on 3 years residence under Section 6(2) if the nationality act.

Sorry I meant settled status: it's easier to acquire.
So, if I get the settled status, I get the citizenship as well straight away?

You can APPLY for citizenship if you meet all the requirements to apply based in 3 years residence as the spouse of a British citizen.
