Hello,

I am looking to apply CoE-ROA for my 18 months old son, born in India and currently in India. However, I have the following doubts:

1. I will be submitting the following documents to VFS in India, but are these enough:

a. Child (applicant)'s Indian Passport
b. Father's naturalisation Certificate
c. Mother's Birth Certificate
d. Letter of Consent from father and mother (signed by both Parent)
e. TB Certificate
f. Mothers Indian passport (is this even required)?

2. I found that the mother's name on Child Passport, mother’s Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate is slightly different in all three documents. Child's passport has the mother's post marriage surname, marriage certifcate has mother's maiden name and mother's birth certificate has a different surname altogether (different from marriage certificate and child's passport). What can be done in this scenario? Do I need to submit any other document to explain difference in mother's name in all these 3 documents?

3. Some of the documents like Child's birth certificate is laminated, will that be a problem?

If any one can advise on the above 3 questions, that would be great.

Many thanks :)

You are require
1: Child birth certificate which shows parents details
2: child passport
3: British citizen parents Naturalisation certificate and Bio page of passport
4: Marriage certificate of parents
5: Indian passport of other parent
6: child TB test if child is over 6 month old
7: Child pictures from birth to date with parents(optional but advisable)
8: Complete explanation of name differences on all documents with evidence.like birth name should be on birth certificate and same birth certificate name should be on marriage certificate. If passport is issued after marriage then it should be the surname of the current husband.

Laminated documents are not acceptable.

Hi uk7591,

Thank you for your reply. This is very helpful.

Do you know if Marriage Certificate is mandatory if applicant was born after 1 July 2006?

Many thanks for your help on this.

Do we also need to submit the birth certificate of the mother (holding Indian passport)?
