Chance of speeding up first UK Passport application?

Hi All - I attended my British Citizenship Ceremony today (30 October) and immediately applied for the British Passport. I am originally from Hong Kong and have a work trip that I need to attend from 16-21 November in Hong Kong. Timelines are tight and there's a chance I won't receive the new British passport before flying on 16 November.

Has anyone had experience trying to speed up the process by calling the Passport Adviceline and explaining the situation? Any other suggestions would be much welcome as well (apart from not going on the work trip)?
