Hi Experts,

I am on ILR status eligible to British Citizen/Naturalisation from 3rd week of February. But unfortunately I have to go back home for more than 90days - 6 months due to some family issues. Now my question is
1. If I am absence for more than 90 days what problems I get cause to get my British Citizen.
2. Will i get any issue to my ILR leave?
And
3. My wife had to travel back home due to her family members passed away before her visa expires (she was on T1E Dependent) in August 2019. Once I go back, on my UK absence I will process her ILR dependent application may be Dec'19/Jan'20. What will be the ILR dependent procedure from outside UK as she already lived in UK.

Thanks & Regards,
Smartpen

1.The only issue that will arise with more than 90 days absence is that you will not qualify for British citizenship.
2. Will not affect ur ILR.
3. ILR cannot be applied from abroad.

Forever not qualify? or only for some years?
3. ILR cannot be applied from abroad.
it is ILR Dependent not ILR.

1. Till you have no more than 90 days absence in the preceding 12 months from date of naturalisation application.
2. There is no such visa as ILR dependant. Ur spouse can apply for entry clearance as PBS dependant. Or entry clearance as a spouse of a settled person.

This is my understanding about the absence after ILR. If the person was continuously living in the UK after obtaining ILR ( with period of absence less than 90days) say for example eligible date is 1st Jan 2020. If the person is absent continuously for 6 months since between 2nd Jan 2019 to 2nd-june-2019. Then the person is eligible to apply for naturalisation from 3-June-2020 onwards.

9 months out of 12 months must be spent in UK.
I just went through ur past history and it seems you obtained ILR via long residence.
That effectively reset ur spouses ILR clock.
It’s so unfortunate that you didn’t apply for FLR(m) once you got ur ILR.. as there is no absence limit for spouses she could have lived for an extended period abroad and still qualify for ILR sooner rather than later.
