I have just received a Notice of Prosecution (NIP) for a speeding offence. I have recently made an application for naturalisation. I was just wondering if there is a need for me to inform home office about this? If so do i need to wait until a decision is made on the NIP or whether as soon as you receive it?

Your application covers the period up to the application date. This isn't a material event and wouldn't normally affect an application. Your decision could potentially come before you have been issued a fine. Appreciate you are worried but this happens regularly to people before and/or after the applications has been submitted. There isn't a blanket requirement to report all changes or events.

I will suggest you contact HO using this email address
FurtherNationalityEnquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk and explain that you got the notice after you have submitted your application. Provide your case ID and provide the detiails to the sppeding offence. While the speeding offence in itself shouldn't affect your application (if you are not a repeat offender), declaring it could help, just in case it pops up when your application is being treated.
