After citizenahip ceremony Returning Permanent resident card ?

Hi
I have just had my citizenship ceremony. I am bit confused if I have to returning my (BRP) Permanent resident card.
My permanent resident card is through the non EU Family member of a French national. But
My spouse also has British nationality now I applied for British nationality through spouse of a British national.
Don't think it changes my Permanent resident status ?
As the PR through EU / family members of EU national is automatic and not lost after British citizenahip ?
Am I right ? Or should I not take a chance and return it and apply again for the permanent resident permit later if I need it.
It been 3 days since my ceremony so 2 more days to return the card I reckon.
Thanks and regards

Appreciate it. My card have these details ;
Type of permit ; permanent residence
My card says at the bottom ; residence card of a family member of a union citizen.
This is a EU PR card ? Not the ILR BRP. ?
So I definitely not have to return it ? Sorry for reconfirmation don't want to be fined 1000£ for not returning the card. In 5 days.
Thanks for always being responsive and helpful.
Regards

People who get ilr under the UK immigrations rules need to send the brp cards back as their ilr, which is not automaitc and has to be applied for and approved by HO, becomes invalid when they become British.
EEA/EU PR is attained automatically and the card is merely confirmation of that status, which you do NOT lose when you become British.

Thanks i am sure that your advice is concrete. Is there any official statement or link where it's mentioned that one doesn't have to return the BRP attained through EEA route.
Thanks

On that note another question. I agree with the response regarding non-EU PR Card. However this card will be invalid upon Brexit and after the transition period. All people holding this card are advised to apply for settled status or british citizenship by Dec 2020. So even if you dont have to return, I guess the only use will be to show that you are family member upon any travel to other EU countries. Correct me if I am wrong please. Also my next question is should the holder apply for settled status regardless of holding British citizenship---however settled status is a UK law, so I guess the answer will be a No. Hope I have shed some light in to the situation.

A British citizen cannot apply for Settled Status.

No there is not.
Is your advice based on some official information ? Or someone's previous experience ? Or lack of information on returning the EEA BRP ?

Just spoke to the UK Visa and immigration EEA
called on 03001232253 option 2, option 3
if it's a BRP and you have given Biometric data then this card needs to be returned after attending your British nationality ceremony.
EU settled status in the UK is lost after attaining British citizenship, this card is void and of no use.

According to what you posted, you do NOT hold EU Settled Status under the UK immigration rules, but DCPR automatically attained under the EEA/EU Regulations, confirmed by a card issued. You don't lose the EEA/EU regulation attained PR status when you become British.
It is only settled/ILR issued under the UK immigration rules that is voided. EU Settled Status cards also do NOT state 'residence card of a family member of a union citizen'.
You are confusing two completely different routes to ILR/settled status and PR.

I agree with CR001. BRP or Biometric Residence Permit is a permission from UK.
The non-EU PR Card is exempt of immigration rules and not a permit, a mere confirmation of status.
I think if brexit happens the physical card will be invalid after transition period. The status is not lost unless a new court verdict/law takes effect.
Returning non-EU PR Card has no logic. It might be your choice I guess because after brexit and transition period, this will be invalid according to gov . Uk website
However I think I made an error by filling in my non-EU PR card details in BRP section of online application. At the time I did wonder that I had already given details of this in the Non-EU PR Card section in the beginning.
CR001 Do you think this might cause an issue?

I do agree with you and there is no info on returning the PR card.
https://www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-ee ... ve-applied
thou I applied for citizenship under the spouse of British national not EEA route. as I did not have to wait for 12 months on my PR card.
https://www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-sp ... ertificate
I am indeed a bit confused about which information to follow regarding returning the BRP.
For now, just to be safe I will return it and the status is not lost ask for a replacement PR card.
