British citizenship for wife

Hi I am in a similar situation. I am a British Citizen and my wife is due to apply for her ILR in the next few days (super priority). For her British Citizenship, she could have applied the next day of receiving her ILR however her total absences from UK currently total 297 within the last 3 years. In addition, as she was away from UK between 24th December,2016- 11th February 2017, she will have to wait till 11th February 2020 before making the Naturalisation application as I understand that she has to be a) present in UK exactly 3 years before the application date AND b) be in the UK for 270 days in the last 3 years. The guidance refers to 300 days as normally disregarded. Is it okay to apply for Naturalisation before 24th December as her total absences currently stand at 297? Or is it too risky? We were planning to visit Pakistan in January and hence preferred to apply straight away. Will be good to have a view from other members who may have applied in this situation and their application was successful.

AND b) be in the UK for 270 days in the last 3 years.
It is 270 days ABSENCE limit in the 3 years immediately preceding date of application. It is not 270 days of being IN the UK.

Sorry it was an error on my part. I meant that she has been away/ABSENT from the UK for 297 days in the last 3 years if we apply before 24th December 2019. Otherwise she will have to wait till 11th February to bring her absences within 270 days limit. My question is whether it is worth applying in December if 300 days absence is generally disregarded by UKBA. Any thoughts?

The best is to wait until 11/02/2020
