Urgent Query!! - Need Help

Hey Guys!

i need urgent help so that i can stop scratching my head.

I have received my naturalisation letter a few days ago and have my ceremony booked for 24th January... However i was filling in a passport application form for my child who was born (after i had ILR) and is a british citizen by birth, which requires me (as a father) to send my Original Biometric card with his application..

Now if i send my child's passport application first, then the expected time of first Child passport could be upto 5 weeks. Which means that i may not be able to (a) Present my Biometric card (at ceremony if required) or (b) able to distroy it and send it back to the Home office within 5 working days after receiving the naturalisation certificate.

If i get my ceremony done first, return my biometric card and then apply for my son's passport, then the issue is (a) I wouldn't have biometric card (b) if i send my naturalisaiton certificate, then how would i prove that i had ILR, when my son was born

Ideally i wouldnt want my ceremony to be delayed as the next one is available in March, and want to make sure that i take a correct approach.

when i looked at urgent passport appointment, it says that "In rate situations Child can't use this service where (a) parents were born outside UK or (B) child is not registered as british citizen... so what i understand is i cannot go for urgent passport..

Can someone help with this situation please ?

Thanks CROO1.. I initially thought i could but when i was trying to book an appointment, it said below

" Most children can use this service.
In rare situations though, children can't use this service because they are applying for a first British passport under 'Treaty Rights'. A Treaty Rights application is where both of the following apply:
Test Test has a parent who was born outside the UK and who is an EEA national (opens new window), and
Test Test has not been registered as a British Citizen.
If both apply to Test Test then you can't use this service. You'll need to contact the Passport Adviceline on 0300 222 0000 for information on how to get a passport."

or on this link https://www.passportappointment.service ... king.ofml sorry i could not paste a snip of it

Do we not fall foul for above rule ? because i was born abroad ?

Treaty rights and EU citizens doesn't apply to your circumstances.

No the born abroad issue doesn't apply to you either and it does clearly say "born abroad AND an EU citizen", it doesn't say OR.

Many have applied using this service for children born after they got ilr.
