Document certifying permanent residence (EEA)

Hi everyone,

I have my citizenship ceremony tomorrow (16/01/20)
I read somewhere that a BRP card has to be send back after the ceremony.

I don’t have a BRP card but a document certifying permanent residence. I am an EU national and I am confused now whether i need to send my PR back or not?
Is there anyone from EU here that are after the ceremony? Can you please let me know whether you sent it back? Or someone who know what i should do? Thank you

You do not need to return your DCPR to HO.

DCPR is not equivalent to or substitute for a BRP and issued under EU rules and, as such, is not necessary to return to HO.

Once you're British it is no longer valid but you can keep it as a "souvenir" and historical evidence of your status timeline in your records.
