Change of Circumstances - Naturalisation application
Posted: Fri Jan 17, 2020 3:59 pm
I have applied for naturalization on the 23 November 2019 and yesterday an officer of the Home Office contacted me stating that I do not meet the statutory residence requirements as I was not in the UK on the very first day of my 5 years qualifying period i.e. 24 November 2014.
They asked me to re-submit my application to allow them to continue their consideration and they will take the date I resubmit it (today 17 January 2020) as the new date of application.
Now, on the original application dated 23 November 19 I stated that I was employed and confirmed my (at the time) current employer. As of today I am not employed waiting to start a new job in March 2020.
Should I communicate the change in my employment as I am not employed a the moment and if they take the 17 January 2020 as the new application date this contradicts what I stated in the original application i.e. I was employed.
What are your thoughts?
Many thanks
Paolo
