Hi All,

I have a confusion and hope some one here can guide me in a right path. Here is my situation

1. I was on Tier 2 General visa , my wife and my two daughters(born in UK) were on my tier 2 dependant visa.
2. My wife were eligible for ILR on 10 year route and was granted ILR last year Sep.
3. As soon as she got ILR i have switched my visa from tier 2 to ILR dependant
4. So for now both my kids are in my tier 2 dependant visa valid june 2020

We are planning to leave one of our daughter back home (for approx an year) with their grand parents due to family situation - we would know whether we can register British passport for her from India?

It will be of great help if anyone can help us here please?

Many thanks in advance

They don't qualify for a British Passport because they are not yet British.

You have to register them as British first on form MN1. Costs £1023 each.

Note that they will both lose their Indian citizenship from the date they become British, which is the date on the Registration certificate.

Thank you so much for your quick reply CR001.
So we can register them as British on form MN1 from India?
Their current visa will expire in June 2020 - do we need to register them before their current visa expires?

Many Thanks in advance
