Naturalisation Queries

Hi All,

Could you please advise me on the below:
1) My husband was granted ILR in 2016 via Tier 1 route but he committed a speeding offence in Apr 2017 before he could apply for citizenship. He received a fine and points from the court on Oct 2017 but didn't need to attend. When can he apply for Citizenship? Does he need to wait for 3 year or 5 years from date of the sentence.

2) Reading the BRP pages on .gov.uk it seems we need to declare criminal conviction using Change of circumstances form. The ILR grant letter doesn't say we have to do this and the form is for point based immigrants. He received ILR via Tier 1 route but is he still be considered one for this purpose even after ILR?

3) Do we need to use the change of circumstances form mentioned above to inform home office?

4) If Yes, Is it too late to do so?

Please advise

Many thanks

3 years from the date of conviction. Do see and read the FAQs (click).

I do not know of a requirement to inform the Home Office of a conviction once settled.
