registering a child as BC- questions regarding MN1 form

Hello,

both me and my husband have been living in the UK for 7 years and have received ILR (we are not citizens yet). Our son was born in the UK a few months before we completed 5 years in the country so we have to apply for his citizenship. I have a couple of questions regarding MN1.

1) Does your parent or legal guardian share your address, telephone number and email?

My husband shares the address with our son but has a different tel number and email address to me. So obviously I answer 'no' and add the same address along with his tel number and email?

2) Are you relying on your parent's permanent residence (either as an EEA National or the family member of an EEA National) as evidence of their settled status in the United Kingdom?

I have put 'no'. Is that correct?

3) regarding the referee (professional)
My son is 2,5 years old and does not attend school/nursery. So no teacher to ask to be a referee.
Also we do not have a health visitor or minister of religion that knows the child personally.
In addition, about 1,5 years ago we moved homes so changed GPs and since then our boy has been healthy so hasn't been to the doctor's at all. So again I have no doctor that knows him in a professional way. We do have a friend who is a doctor and a BC and is willing to be a referee. Would that be enough?

Thank you in advance for your help!

This is not about you it is about the child. So it is YES

As you have ILR, you are not EEA I assume

You need two referees. A British citizen and a professional. The professional referee for children must have interacted with the child in a professional capacity. You can use a regular professional if you show that you tried and failed to secure such referee.

Hello,

Thank you for your quick reply.

We are from Greece so we are from the EEA but we only have ILR (so we are settled). This question was a bit confusing to me,to be honest.

I have two referees, both British. The problem is I don't have a professional for the reasons I explained. How can I show that I tried and failed?

Thank you again for your reply.

If you got PR under EEA rules, then answer YES

Any evidence you can gather.

Hi melissoula,
Another Greek here. I have a the same issue. Health visitor and Gp declined from the phone and I am thinking of using a friend who is a doctor instead.
My daughter is 7 months so these two were me options. Health visitor said she would if she knew us for two years, which is impossible as my daughter is 7 months.
How did you prove that you tried and failed?

Thanks.
