Hi,

I am a naturalized British citizen for last four years and my Mrs is on FLR (FP) visa (10 years partner route) she will be eligible to apply ILR next year on the basis of long residence (10 years). My question is when she will be able to apply naturalisation as a British citizen? Does she has to wait for 12 months after gaining ILR or can she apply straight away after her ILR considering I am a British citizen. She only been away out of UK for less than 11 weeks in the last 3 years.

Many thanks

Frequent question in this forum ....
Your wife can apply from the day she receives the ILR BRP which is needed for the application. No waiting period. Absences are fine.

That's brilliant and a very good news, and I wasn't aware of that rule at all. I always thought she would need to wait 12 months after attaining her ILR. Thanks again

Sorry i don't understand what exactly you find funny, i was only asking the direct immigration reference or web link of such rule in Gov website. Or perhaps if some one has gone through or thinking about the same situation or circumstances in this forum.

Because I can't find it anywhere even in this forum's FAQ. So rather than being sarcastic it will rationale if anyone send me the link etc. If not then please refrain coming up with any reply.

Thanks
