Citizenship Question

Hello good people, I am due to apply for my naturalization in October. However, I want to be clear about this question about penalties and fines. I had a parking ticked fine in 2016 when I parked in a school zigzag bay. I paid the fine without any issues, however, I want to find out if I have to declare this; because I do not remember the date and month I had the ticket. Thanks in advance.

PCNs have no effect and do not need to be declared

So my long journey ended today. I submitted my citizenship application on 9th October and did biometrics on 28th October 2019. On Tuesday 17th December, I received an email from my case worker requesting evidence of CCJ that I declared on my application form. I attached the evidence with an email on Thursday 19th December, 2019 and sent it. My application was then approved on 03/01/2020 and received approval letter on 13th January. I did a private ceremony on the 21st and applied for a passport the same day. Passport was approved on 4th January and I received it today. Just to clarify, I was an overstayer for 4 yrs (2008 - 2012) until I met my EU wife and got married in May, 2012. I got RC in 2014, PR in 2019 and Citizenship 2020. I must say this forum has saved me a fortune. I did everything all by myself; just my reading this forum and asking questions pertaining to my applications. There are amazing and selfless people here on this forum and I am so grateful to everyone especially the Moderators. A big thank you to everyone in this fantastic community and I hope anyone expecting a response from HO will receive a positive response soon.

Congratulations.
Going by the passport application timelines on the forum, your passport seems to have taken quite a bit of time from when it was approved to when you received. Did they explain why?

Congratulations - seems to have been a relatively smooth process and proves that even with declaring issue(s) applicants are highly likely to be approved. It's good for forum contributors to receive feedback.

Congrats.
Have they not applied good character test on you as by what you said that you got status in 2014 so according to this you would apply in 2024 or you just have been lucky or you applied on partner route ?Whats the case?

I became a family member of EEA national by marrying my wife in May, 2012 therefore my legal stay started from then and not 2014 when I got RC.

So even from 2012 you would apply in 2022 but luckily I think they haven't applied good character test on you as before 2012 you were an overstayer.Well good for you. There are 45% people with ILR ,PR or settled status but blocked by ho on a refusal tool so called good character test.

Yes I know I have been very lucky after reading others experiences. But I think my case worker considered me because I am a final year mental health nursing student as they badly need nurses.Thats all I can think .

Hello
Can you please share your real story as it seems they haven't applied good character test on you which is rare?Anyway as you said you got EEA family member visa in 2012 still you should be applying in 2022 then if you didn't have a legal status before 2012.If you didn't have legal status before 2012 but never worked illegally then overstayed period is ignored which seems your case. Please tell us to help many members of you have been working illegally before 2012 and overstayed before 2012?
