Dear all
I have received my ceremony invitation letter dated to the 28th of January 2020. On the letter it states that I should contact the local council within 21 days from the letter date to book a ceremony. I have contacted the council the next working day but the next available ceremony is on 4/3/20. I’m just conscious that it is almost 5 weeks from the date of the letter.
Do you think it would be ok to have the ceremony on that day or should I try to book an earlier private ceremony (not very keen to do this if not necessary)

You need to contact the council within 21 days and attend the ceremony within 90 days of the letter. You will be fine.

They ask you to contact the council within 21 days after receiving the letter not to take the actual ceremony.

For the ceremony, you have 3 months from the date of the invitation letter.
