Hi All,
I am thinking to apply for naturalisation as I have been given ILR in Feb 2012 but I was out of the country for two years in the last five years. Since last 2 and half years I'm in uk and working full time. Am I be eligible to apply for naturalisation and my two sons are British and my wife is same as me on ILR since may 2012 she was out of the country for doing her specialisation in medicine and she is back in uk for over 2 years and working on to get her GMC registration. Please advice us.
Many thanks.

Best regards
Syed.

You must meet the absence requirements, which is no more than 450 days in the 5 years before you apply.

You also have to have been physically present in the UK exactly 5 years before on the date you apply.

You have more than 450 days absence of you were away for 2 years and appears you might not meet the physically present at the start of the 5 years requirment either.

If your wife situation is the same, then the advice is the same.
