What kind of trouble? Because the application is filled by yourself on behalf of your son. So depending in your past troubles, it may trigger more scrutiny as it seems the case.

I have seen a case of naturalisation taking more than a year but it was a gentleman from Afghanistan with asylum history and some degree of uncertainty over his identity.

the trouble was that I was overstayed for about 4 months but I was co operating ( signing in every two weeks) until I got LTR (O).
But my CRB clean up to date.

If you were present illegally in the UK anytime during the last 10 years prior to your application, you can expect a refusal. The fact that you were cooperating doesn't make that period legal as you didn't have a valid leave.

This shouldn't affect a child's application though as the child appears to be UK born

I agree. Misread the post. I thought it was his application.

The son shouldn't be affected by the father being illegal at one point during the last 10 years.

:!: that's my understanding to the immigration law, and for that reason I didn't apply for my naturalisation, it is nonsense my child shouldn't penalize for dads mistakes!
I contacted the HO about the process or any details, no answers, and Icomplaine, also I got my MP to write to them and today I have received a negative answer as usual, the case still in investigation!!!! And when something available will inform me??
My son's application in the shelves for more than 18 months with no clear answer of processing time or any details!!! I'm so upset :|

What do they need to investigate? A UK born child is entitled to register immediately after a parent has ILR.
