Naturalisation application

Hello

Just wanted to ask a very simple and quick question here:

12 months are nearly over on ILR by the end of Jan 2020, can we fill the online application now and pay for it etc and book the visit to one of the locations for boimetric say some time in February?

would that still count as 12 months of stay on ILR?

Hope this makes sense!

Thank you

You need the full 12 months on ilr. There is no 28 days early concession for citizenship.

The date you submit and pay online is the date of application, not your biometrics appointment date.

Brilliant! Thank you for your reply.

So can we at least start the application now and fill everything in but only submit and pay in Feb?

Much appreciated

Kind Regards,

Yes, note however that members often don't have the option to go back and change answers even if not submitted, so be mindful of that.

Oh I will keep that in mind! I think it is better to start the online process once I am ready to submit.

Thank you so much for your prompt replies!

Have a great day..

Good morning,

Quick question to the experts here!

I will be travelling after I have submitted my application online, do I mention that trip in the online application or leave it?

Thanks

Only travel up to the point of submission and payment is relevant!! You cannot list travel in the form that is for a future date!

Thank you for getting back to me!

Does this mean; If I travel after the submission/making the payment but before the appointment for Biometrics, I still don't mention it? correct?

Correct as it is irrelevant to the date of application and submission, which is not your date of biometrics.

Thank you! and apologies for asking a question in someone else thread

I was thinking I can save some time by doing that but learned the hard way

Re your employment history question, you need to list all employment for 10 years or the time you have been in the UK, ie 5/6 years if applicable.

Wondering if someone can point me in the right direction for the Documents required based on our application:

* Proof of living in the UK - If you are not married, or in a civil partnership with, a British citizen, you must have been in the UK for the past 5 years - Bank statements or household bills are not suitable proof you have been living in the UK.

(What is sufficient then?)

It is ONLY your passports!!

Other documents are required only if you are an EU citizen or an EEA/EU family member as their passports do NOT get stamped when entering the UK.

Biometric and ALL stamped pages must be scanned covering the qualifying period.

Would this be considered as qualifying period: Held ILR for 12 months, last entry stamp on passport is almost 5 years ago?

However, the stamp is in the old expired passport?

Should I scan the Main page + all stamped pages from the the expired passport?

Thanks :)

Hi,

Is it worth scanning all of the older passports stamps? for Proof of Living

I have 2 old passports and 1 new/valid passport

so far I have only scanned the stamp pages from one of the expired/old passport going back to 2015 and front page of a new passport as there were no stamps whilst making the application

1. should I also scan second expired/old passport stamp pages? this have stamps for 2013 or earlier

2. What would be the qualifying period for the 10 Years + 1 year ILR ----> Naturalisation?

Hope this makes sense :)
